Adoption Process & Information
*Fill out the application completely. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
*Reference checks: This step usually takes the longest! Please make sure your references are aware that we will be calling and to be ready to return our phone calls. Also, please make sure your landlord (if applicable) is aware of your intent to adopt and will confirm the pet policy over the phone with us. Contact your veterinarian and ensure that they will release information to us as well. By taking these few steps, it can help move your application along quickly.
*Phone Interview: This gives us an opportunity to get to know you and to tell you all about the rescue pup you are interested in adopting. We'll share foster feedback, special stories, likes/dislikes, and answer specific questions/address any concerns you may have.
*Home Visit: This is not to judge your home but rather to ensure a safe living environment and proper fit of dog for the amount of space/layout in your type of home. Please note that even if you live out of state we can find a volunteer in your area to help us complete the home visit!
*Meet & Greet: Meet the rescue pups who may be your potential new family member! As long as all of the above steps are completed, you are able to take the pup home with you the same day.
*Trial Home: We do provide a 1 week trial with all of our rescue pups to ensure the best fit for your family and the pup. We will communicate with you during this time and help with any adjustment issues.

***We are here to help - we want this adoption to work! We will always give advice and offer potential solutions. We do check in periodically during the adjustment phase to ensure that everything is going well. We encourage updates, pictures, and funny stories!
We try our very best to be timely in processing our applications - on average, this can take a few days up to a week, depending upon how quickly references can be reached. We will communicate with you via email, text, and phone calls.
If you have not heard from us within 10 days of submitting your application, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We have had a few people who have submitted an application which we never received!
Please answer all questions completely. If an answer does not apply, please type something in the box (N/A or reason why it doesn't apply) as most questions are required for the form to submit.
