Lily is a 1-2 year old Labradoodle (Labrador Retriever / Standard Poodle) who is very timid and shy initially. She is especially fearful of men and will take a special home to bring her to her full potential.
Lily is good with people once she feels comfortable – she is timid and will avoid contact until she is ready. Lily takes longer to warm up to men than women. She will need a patient person willing to work with her without pushing her too fast. Lily does well with children but prefers ones who do not overwhelm her when she is nervous.
Lily does well with other dogs – both large and small. She does watch how they interact with people and takes note. Lily would greatly prefer a home with another dog – she would do okay without but will take longer to adjust and warm up to her new family. Lily has been around cats and done well – she would have no issue living with cats.
Lily is kennel trained and pretty well house trained – while she is adjusting to a new schedule, she has had a few accidents but after she was used to the routine, she hasn’t had any more. Lily knows her basic manners and is respectful. She has been learning her basic commands and does well at come, sit, kennel up, and is working on lay down (she does most of the time). Lily walks great on the leash but occasionally when excited pulls a bit but settles down with some patient reminders.
Lily would prefer to find a family who understands that she is timid and will take time to warm up to a new family and routine. She would prefer a fenced area to run and play, but she would do okay with walks as well. Lily will require a family who is prepared to take her to the groomer every 6-8 weeks – she cannot go longer without matting.
Lily is vet checked, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, spayed, microchipped, and current on her flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. Lily’s adoption donation fee is $300.
