Understanding Our Adoption Fee 🐾 Our adoption fee is $300 for each dog, and we want you to know exactly what that fee helps provide. Every dog adopted through Sarah’s Treasures Rescue receives the veterinary care and preparation needed to give them a healthy start in their new home, including: Spay or neuter Heartworm testing Vaccinations Microchipping Flea and tick prevention Heartworm prevention Deworming protocol Treatment for additional medical needs that arise while in our care Why is the fee a set amount? Our $300 adoption fee is not based on the individual cost of caring for each dog. Some dogs need relatively little medical care beyond their routine preparation, while others may require additional veterinary visits, medications, treatment, grooming, dental care, or other services before they are ready for adoption. The reality is that $300 often does not cover everything we spend preparing a dog for adoption. We use a set adoption fee because we believe every dog deserves the same opportunity to find a loving home, regardless of how much their individual rescue journey has cost. Your adoption fee helps offset the care your dog has received and, just as importantly, helps us continue caring for the next dog who needs us.
